World's largest DP shuttle tanker 'NS Pioneer' delivered

news-details

NS Pioneer, the world's largest DP shuttle tanker independently designed and recently delivered by CSSC, is the first new DP tanker built to the latest technical specifications of Petrobras, which receives full coverage in CCTV News of CCTV-1 and News Studio of CCTV-13.

The NS Pioneer is customized for the Chinese share of the largest deep-water oil and gas fields in the world, Mero and Buzios, in Brazil. The ship is 279m long, 48m wide and 23.7m deep with a carrying capacity of 155,000 DWT.

The unpredictable weather and harsh oceanic conditions in Brazilian deep-water oil fields demand ships with dynamic positioning. The NS Pioneer has industry-leading DP2 and the newest bow loading system for stable position control and better safety assurance of oil extraction.

With low fuel consumption, good maneuverability, NOx emission to Tier III and energy efficiency index to EEDI stage 2, the carbon emission of NS Pioneer per DWT mileage is 1/4 lower than the baseline value, reducing 7,000 tons of COâ‚‚ per year, equivalent to planting 1,200 trees.
